Dr. Danaya Kauwe, PT, DPT, PRPC, Cert-DN

Danaya is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner who understands—both professionally and personally—that life brings transitions we never planned for, and strength we didn’t know we had.

As a Gold Star widow, Danaya became a solo mother to two young children after losing her husband. She navigated postpartum and grief simultaneously, rebuilt her life, remarried, and welcomed two more children. She has been postpartum four times—in joy, in sorrow, in transition, and in new beginnings.

As a former NCAA Division I track and field athlete at Southern Utah University, she brings an athlete’s understanding of performance, injury, and recovery to her work.

Why “Radiant”

She came to us feeling like a shadow of herself. Months later, she hiked Mount Timpanogos — twice. No leaking. Not even sore. She was glowing.

Radiant.

That glow — a woman getting her life back — is the reason for our name, and what we want for every patient we treat.

What Patients Say

Working with Danaya was so educational and informative! I loved how knowledgable and thorough she was at helping me understand the anatomy surrounding the pelvic floor and how to strengthen and support it. Having her come into my home also made it so convenient and she never rushed through things but was so thorough and great at answering questions. I was pregnant with my 7th baby while working with her and had begun experiencing fear and anxiety around coughing and laughing, sneezing, and jumping on the trampoline because I felt I was losing control over my bladder. And this was even before my belly got very big! The targeted exercises she had me do provided positive results within 1-2 weeks. I was so relieved! I know exactly what I need to do now to keep things toned and strong in this incredible area of my body that requires so much support. And I feel hopeful I will be able to maintain this when entering later seasons of my life. Thank you Danaya!
Danaya is a wonderful provider! She makes you feel completely comfortable, makes you feel seen and heard with your concerns validated. She is very knowledgeable with the entire body from the head to the toes! She explains what she is doing and why in terms that the patient can understand well. She will make what could be uncomfortable topics (it is pelvic floor therapy after all) and situations feel totally normal and common. Highly recommend her!

Danaya is professional, very knowledgeable, and provides good physical therapy services. I would recommend her!

I have been able to work with Danaya twice over the last few years after I had baby two and most recently baby three. I have had amazing experiences both times. After my second, she helped me navigate mild bladder prolapse to get back into exercising and also to train for a half marathon, which I completed without any pelvic floor symptoms or problems! Fast forward to this year after I had my third and was dealing with heaviness from prolapse. I wasn't able to find Danaya and started with another physical therapist for a couple months but I felt super discouraged and wasn't seeing much improvement. I randomly came across Danaya's new business and immediately reached out! In just over a month she has helped me build strength and confidence that I can return to exercising how I would like. She is very thorough in her exams and gives specific exercises and technique for your specific situation and goals. Both times I have worked with her have been extremely beneficial as she has adjusted and modified my care plan to best help me progress. Her breadth of knowledge and professionalism is top tier and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone needing a pelvic floor physical therapist!

Dr. Danaya has been absolutely amazing! She has helped normalize a lot of my struggles. She is amazing at working with whatever you have going on.

I got SPD in my third trimester of pregnancy and it was so painful I couldn't walk. I was desperate to try anything to get function back and working with Dr. Danaya has helped me so much to be able to manage pain and be functional throughout the remaining months of pregnancy. As delivery is getting closer she has also helped me with other labor prep. She has been very professional and kind as she worked with my individuals needs during therapy sessions and helped me make personalized exercise plans to treat my problem muscles. I would definitely recommend it to anyone seeking pelvic floor therapy!
Dr. Danaya is so professional and knowledgeable in her approach as a pelvic floor PT. As a mental health professional, I highly recommend providers like her for treatment because of her approach. She has a calm demeanor and warm approach that helps put you at ease in what could otherwise be an uncomfortable situation. I highly recommend!
Naya worked wonders for me. When I started seeing her I was having horrible kidney/abdominal pain. A kidney doctor wanted to perform surgery, and I didn't feel good about it. So I started seeing Naya to see if I could get some relief of the pain. After several months of appointments I can say I'm nearly free from all the pain. She listened to my concerns and I'm so grateful I listened to my gut and tried her first. I couldn't recommend her highly enough!
I'm a repeat customer of Dr Danaya. As a 35+ year old woman, mother, rugby player, and rock climber there's always SOMETHING tighter or looser than it's supposed to be. Dr Danaya is an excellent resource for some quick relief in the form of dry needling, but also long term fixes. For example, I sprained my ankle a little over a year ago. This put a lot of strain on my calves as they compensated for the injury. Dr Danaya needled my calves which relieved the tension and gave me ankle specific mobility exercises as well as strengthening drills. There's almost no residual effects from the sprain and I 100% attribute that to the support I received. Another example. I'm a mother of two and ever since my first pregnancy I'd experienced leaking when coughing (don't get me started on what running did to me). Danaya gave me some exercises to not only strengthen my pelvic floor, but also my core and glutes. I don't have to cross my legs when I sneeze now! She doesn't just slap a bandaid on the issue and call it a day. She asks questions and tries to discover what the root of the problem is to create lasting results. TLDR: Dr Danaya is awesome and everyone should use her!
I cannot thank Dr. Danaya enough. I am 5 months postpartum and I was scrambling to find a place that offered dry needling in my area, since my muscles felt tense and heavy since having my son. I am so thankful I found Radiant. One phone call to Dr. Danaya where she explained the in home process to me and the rest was EASY. She shows up at your home with all the equipment and supplies which is so convenient as a mom. It was a full 60 minute, one on one, dry needling session. I was thinking we didn't need the full 60 minutes, but she was so thorough and focused on me and my healing, that the hour flew by and every second used in that hour was precious and needed for what I was looking for. Not to mention, the dry needling has been extremely effective and my muscles no longer feel stiff and in pain. Dry needling can feel intimidating but Dr. Danaya made me feel comfortable, at ease, and explained everything she was doing step by step. She was extremely professional, very knowledgeable, and most importantly, made me feel deserving of treatment. I am grateful for Dr. Danaya.
Danaya helped me heal after my fourth pregnancy and it was hands down the BEST thing I've done for my postpartum self. You can tell that Danaya cares so much about providing thorough treatment and is fully invested in your health and healing. I think every woman who has ever birthed a baby at some point in their lives should do some pelvic floor physical therapy (and even women who haven't had babies could also benefit from it). I also loved seeing almost immediate results with some of the stretches and dry needling done in my appointments. It's amazing how much progress can be made in just one appointment, let alone a few months of care.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral?

Utah is a Direct Access state — meaning no referral required!

How does payment work?

We are a cash-based practice — you pay at the time of service and we provide a detailed superbill you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. This model means your treatment is based on what you need, not what an insurance company approves. We also accept HSA and FSA cards.

What happens during a session?

Your first visit (60 minutes) starts with your story and goals. Then Dr. Danaya looks at the whole picture — your back, hips, core, breathing, and movement patterns — before assessing pelvic floor muscle function, coordination, and strength. Ongoing sessions may include manual therapy, dry needling, therapeutic exercise, and education — so you understand what's happening in your body and why, not just what to do.

Is internal pelvic floor assessment required?

No. Internal assessment is often the most effective way to evaluate pelvic floor muscle function, but it's always optional.

Can I have my baby at my appointments?

Absolutely. In-home visits are designed with postpartum life in mind. Your baby — and any other children — are welcome.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your condition and goals. Some patients are symptom-free in 3-4 sessions. Others with more complex or long-standing issues benefit from longer care. Dr. Danaya will give you a realistic timeline at your first visit.

What if I'm years postpartum — is it too late?

It's never too late. We regularly work with women who are months, years, or even decades past childbirth and still see significant improvement.
