Board-Certified Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner specializing in women’s pelvic health across pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.
Her Story
Understanding Through Experience
Dr. Danaya is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner who understands—both professionally and personally—that life brings transitions we never planned for, and strength we didn’t know we had.
As a Gold Star widow, Dr. Danaya became a solo mother to two young children after losing her husband. She navigated postpartum and grief simultaneously, rebuilt her life, remarried, and welcomed two more children. She has been postpartum four times—in joy, in sorrow, in transition, and in new beginnings.
That lived experience shapes every aspect of her care. She doesn’t offer platitudes about “bouncing back” because she knows bodies—and lives—don’t work that way. She knows what it’s like to feel disconnected from your body, to wonder if you’ll ever feel like yourself again, and to rebuild from the ground up.
As a former NCAA Division I track and field athlete at Southern Utah University, she brings an athlete’s understanding of performance, injury, and recovery to her work—particularly with women returning to high-level activity after pregnancy or pelvic floor dysfunction.

Beyond the Clinic
Dr. Danaya Outside of Work
Dr. Danaya lives in Lehi with her husband and four children. When she’s not treating patients, you’ll find her hiking the local trails, playing in local sand volleyball leagues, or lifting at the gym. She loves to experience new places with her family, and trying new foods.
As a former Division I athlete and a mother who’s been postpartum four times, she deeply understands the physical and emotional challenges of pregnancy, motherhood, and returning to activity. She’s walked the path herself—and that perspective informs every aspect of the care she provides.
“I became a pelvic floor physical therapist because I experienced first hand how important it is for every woman to be educated about her options for recovery after having a baby. Every woman deserves to feel strong, confident, and fully herself—and I’d love to help you get there.”
— Dr. Danaya Kauwe
